Facilities
KIS currently has just under 400 students ranging from 2 ? - 16 years of age with a student/teacher ratio of 8:1. By 2009, when the school is operating the IB Diploma programme, the capacity will stand at approximately 650 students.
KIS International School is a community of dedicated teachers, supportive parents and enthusiastic students representing over 30 countries. By combining IB philosophies with our academically challenging curriculum, the IB programmes at KIS promote inquiry through the quest for knowledge and understanding. The artistically designed facilities are purpose-built for the instruction of the IB programmes. In addition to roomy classrooms, the Primary School has a library, IT lab, a drama room, a science lab and a gymnasium. The Secondary School facilities include a library and media centre, IT labs, biology, chemistry and physics labs. Shared facilities include the Arts Centre housing the music suites, art and dance studios on the main level and a 25 m ozone system swimming pool on the 2nd floor. Adjoining the Arts Centre is Auditorium building which features the Canteen on the main level and a 600 seating capacity hall on the 2nd floor Outdoor facilities include two fully equipped playgrounds, one covered multi- sports area, covered basketball/volleyball courts, tennis courts and a soccer field.
